Cargille meltmount (optical quality) is a series of mounting media which are specifically formulated for use in microscope slide mounting and in other optical coupling applications. Use meltmount for instant thermal mountants that require "no-oven-time" and are thermally reversible to sample retrieval or re-orientation. Meltmounts are pbc free and contains no solvents. Cleanup in toluene. Fluid at 65 degree c. It is a direct replacement for old mountant mediums (canada balsam, aroclor 5442, naphrax...) Formulated for use in microscope slide mounting and optical coupling. Has a refractive index (nd @25 deg c) of 1.539 And an abbe v dispersion of 45. Optically similar to canada balsam and ideal for mounting biological specimens.
