Cargille meltmount (optical quality) is a series of mounting media which are specifically formulated for use in microscope slide mounting and in other optical coupling applications. Use meltmount for instant thermal mountants that require "no-oven-time" and are thermally reversible to sample retrieval or re-orientation. Meltmounts are pbc free and contains no solvents. Cleanup in toluene. Fluid at 65 degree c. It is a direct replacement for old mountant mediums (canada balsam, aroclor 5442, naphrax...) Used to make permanent microscope slide mounts quickly by can be appling to slide on a hotplate. Can be reversed by reheating quick-stick. Weighs approximately 2/3 oz. (18G).
