This traceable sound level meter features three decibel ranges for greater precision: low (30-80 db), medium (50-100 db), and high (80-130 db). The resolution is 0.1 Db, with an accuracy of ±2 db. The device measures 7.6 X 25.4 X 2.5 Cm (3 x 10 x 1 inch) and weighs 269 g (9.5 Oz.). It records sound levels together with decibel readings and has an adjustable response time that can be set to fast (0.2 Seconds) or slow (1.5 Seconds). A memory data-hold function stores the highest reading achieved for later display. The meter uses a 1.3 Cm (0.5 Inch) condenser microphone and features a recorder jack that captures readings in both ac and dc modes, with an output of 10mv/db. It provides weightings for both a (frequencies from 500 to 10khz) and c (frequencies from 30 to 10khz), meeting iec 651 type-2 standards. The device comes with a serial-numbered certificate from an iso 17025 calibration laboratory, indicating instrument traceability to standards provided by the national institute of standards and technology. It is supplied with a 9v alkaline battery and carrying case.
